The non-refundable registration fee is 150 USD for the professional category and 50 USD for the student category. A prospective competitor may register by inputting the required information in accordance with the registration form, and remitting the non-refundable registration fee by Paypal. A registered competitor will use his/her own email address as ID, and will make up a password to access the detailed competition information which will be downloadable from the official competition web site on March 24, 2009.

The deadline for questions is 5:00 pm, April 7, 2009 (GMT +9). The answers to all questions will be posted on the competition web site on April 14, 2009. The answers to the competitors' questions are considered as addenda or revisions to the Competition regulations.
Dispatch of entries must be made by post or hand delivery. In any case, the submissions must be postmarked or handed in to the Organizing Committee for the Bering Strait Project on or before 5:00 pm, May 26, 2009, local time in Korea (GMT+9).

The mailing address for submission will be announced at a later time.

Sufficient time should be allowed for delivery of posted entries. It is the responsibility of participants to ensure that the dispatch date May 26, 2009 at the latest, is clearly visible on the outside of package and that the package submissions reaches the Organizing Committee for the Bering Strait Project no later than 5:00 pm, June 2, 2009, local time in Korea (GMT+9). Non-respect of these deadlines can result in elimination of the entry by the jury.

Note: It is advised to declare "No Commercial Value" in order not to incur customs duties and/or unforeseen delays at the customs upon arrival in Korea. A participant is free to purchase an insurance coverage adequate to provide protection against loss or damage during the delivery including the customs declaration process.
Drawing panels
Drawing panels consist of six (6) A1 size sheets (594mm x 841mm), placed horizontally, mounted on 10 mm foam boards. Drawing panels shall include, but not limited to, the site plan, perspectives, plans, sections, elevations, diagrams and sketches. Use of color is acceptable. Drawings should be in metric system.

The format for board presentation for the drawings to be submitted is specified. The six (6) A1 size (594mm x 841mm) sheets, placed vertically, will be displayed as shown below;

                 
In order to ensure proper display of the submitted drawings, each drawing should be marked with proper number (1,2,3,4,5 & 6) at the bottom right corner within a rectangle of 30 mm x 30 mm. The Personal Identification Number (PIN) consisting of two (2) alphabet letters and four (4) digits of Arabic numbers of the participant's choice is marked at the bottom left corner within a rectangle of 30 mm x 70 mm.

The site plan of the two Diomede Islands should be placed on number 1 panel and shown at the scale of 1:20,000 with north direction clearly indicated. Other drawings showing the design schemes of the two Islands and a peace park shall be placed on number 2, 3 & 4 panels. Ideas on the connecting the two continents shall be exhibited on number 5 & 6 panels.

All the site plans should be shown with north direction being upward. The scale and composition of other drawings including concept drawing, diagrams are at entrant's discretion. Name and area of spaces are directly shown on drawings.
Design Description
The Design Description will combine texts, diagrams, drawings, and other necessary means of communication otherwise not expressed on the drawing panels. It should be clearly presented on white A4 or letter size paper, 10 pages or less including the cover sheet, bound on the left. The design description shall include the following;

Design summary.
Design concepts of the Peace Park with a bridging structure on the two Islands.
Ideas on connecting the two continents.
Engineering and technical issues, if applicable.
Others
Identification Form sealed in a white letter-size envelope with PIN number on the surface.
Signed Acceptance Form of Promoter¡¯s Terms.
Copy of Registered Architect¡¯s License or Student's Registration Form. (ID)
One (1) CD containing all the submission materials, including the Drawing Panels in jpg format and the Design Description in pdf format, and additional A3 size(landscape) panel image reassembled from the whole panels in pdf format for future publication. (All are 300 dpi or higher resolution images)
Anonymity of submission materials will be maintained until the final decision of the jury. In order to ensure anonymity, all the drawing panels and the cover page of design descriptions will be marked with the Personal Identification Number (PIN). The PIN consists of two (2) alphabet letters and four (4) digits of Arabic numbers of the participant's choice.

When the package is received by the Organizing Committee, the rectangle will be covered with opaque paper and a random Identification (ID) will be assigned.
Each competitor is required to pack all materials in white wrapping paper; attach a sealed white letter-size envelope clearly marked with the PIN number containing the Identification Form of the PIN user; and cover the entire package with material suitable for mailing or transporting by courier services. Upon receipt by the Organizing Committee, the outer cover will be removed and destroyed.
The competition result will be announced to the all participants through the official web site of the competition with the jury report.
The entries for the competition will be exhibited to the public. The exact location and schedule of the exhibition will be announced at a later time.
Whereas the entrants retain authorship of their designs, the ownership of the winning designs belongs to the Foundation for Peace and Unification (FPU).
The FPU will hold exhibitions and publish the selected designs in accordance with the relevant clause in the acceptance form as part of the submission package. Each entrant agrees that any material submitted with his/her entry may be used in connection with the exhibition and publication.
The UIA will also publish the competition results with images of the winning projects in its Newsletter and on its web site.
Competition entries will not be returned. If an entrant wants to have his or her entry back, it can be returned at the expense of the entrant.
